- One aunt and two cousins on his father's side. His cousins are married and have children and live active Muggle lives near Birmingham. They know nothing of Kingsley's Wizarding life.
Friends/Allies: Very few but also very close friends. Allies are fellow Aurors, especially Tonks and Moody. Perhaps some of his fellow Ravenclaws from his days at Hogwarts?

Sexual Orientation: Gay, but not openly. Only very few know of this, including his mother and some of his friends. He's not very sexually active and usually prefers to take it outside the Wizarding World since he's likely to be too easily recognised otherwise.
Personality: Kingsley's friendship is only won through honesty, loyalty, hard work and humour. He prefers a few close friends to having a wide circle of acquaintances. Along with being in love with knowledge (which equals power in his mind), often spending hours on reading, mostly subjects related to his work as an Auror, but also natural science, magical science and classic literature, Kingsley is also a very active man. He does different kinds of physical training to stay in shape, including running, swimming and hand-to-hand combat (different styles.
Generally he's an empathic, social and fairly easy-going type, but often prefers to observe and listen instead of talking and being the centre of attention. Some times he can appear distant or even cold, but that mostly happens if he's deeply engrossed in thoughts or an interesting activity.
Kingsley is rather intelligent and has a quick mind with a good intuition and strategic skills. His penchant for speaking fairly slowly and clearly can often leave the impression with people who don't know him, that he's also slow otherwise. He does consider most decisions very thoroughly, looking at it from several sides. But when the situation requires it, he's very capable of making a (often for his opponents unexpected) swift and with a high degree of probability, successful move.
He's brave, but not reckless; Loyal but not naïve; Honest but not foolishly so; Determined and stubborn, but not pig-headed: Demanding but also helpful. He's very efficient in his line of work and takes every assignment very serious, preparing relentlessly for it until he's sure everything is perfect (yes, he's also a perfectionist, but not neurotically so)
Strengths: Strong mentally, physically and magically, perfectionist, calm under extreme pressure, strategic mind, scarily good at stealth and magical concealment.
Weaknesses: Can at times spend too much time on considering his options before making a choice. Keeps most people at arms length, only very rarely letting anybody in on his feelings and secrets.

Dislikes: Lying (without an extremely good cause), violence, ignorance, stupidity, vanity
Habits: He's a work-a-holic, often looking by the department of his days off to check up on his cases (the man needs a life!). Organises all notes and papers (both for study, work and private) meticulously and systematically. He makes a habit out of being unpredictable in his routines, at least when outside the department and his home. He never uses the same running route two days in a row, he swims in different places, he shops at different times and different places – both Muggle and Wizarding, he prefers to use Apparition, avoiding both Wizarding and Muggle public transportation when possible. If all else fails, he's very quick, competent and agile on a broom.
History (family history, school history, and post-school if applicable): Kingsley was born to and grew up in a strict but loving home as an only child. With a Muggleborn father, he was and still is exposed to some Muggle culture through his childhood and holidays and he knows enough about it to navigate the Muggle world and have opinions about it. He tends to pick the best from both cultures. He clearly favours the Wizarding world and magic above all else though, very strongly influenced by his pureblood mother's side of the family. He has a few childhood friends, but none of them are Muggles, since he grew up in tiny Wizarding village South of Birmingham.
Kingsley entered Ravenclaw without hesitation and was a very thorough and serious student, working hard and getting excellent grades in the subjects he set his heart and mind on. Even if he was often found with his nose buried in books, he was also drawn towards being active and naturally fell in love with Quidditch which incorporated two of his favourite things: Straining physical activity and strategies. He started playing in 2nd year as Chaser and remained on the team until his 7th year when he wanted to concentrate all his efforts fully on his N.E.W.T.'s. In his 5th year Kingsley was appointed Prefect.
Around his second year Kingsley realised he was attracted to the other boys and not the girls at all, even if he tried/pretended to be. He kept this realisation to himself, unsure how his friends would react if they knew, and unsure about his own feelings in the matter. As usual for him, he studied the subject as well as he could with the extremely narrow selection of sources he could find, along with observing people around him. It wasn't before the summer holiday before his 7th year that he had his first sexual encounter. From then on he was quite sure about his preferences, even if he only very rarely engaged himself in any sexual encounters. And then only when he was sure it could be kept a secret.
Kingsley entered Auror training right out of Hogwarts, and was trainee through the years of the war. This means he wasn't exposed to the worst incidents, but he knew very clearly what was going on and was very passionate in his opposition against Voldemort, his Death Eaters and his politics. He still is, and is willing to go very far (even subtly bend rules) to support anything working against it.
Everything in Kingsley's back-story is canon-compliant up to the moment where he enters the game.
